This one’s for you Mr C.!
As much as I’m looking forward to the evolution of the Library typology, I can’t help my fascination with libraries from the good old days. There’s just something about the way an encyclopedia ages; yellowed pages having been leafed through by a million different fingers. Or a tattered old Mills and Boon sitting forlornly on an old walnut shelf, waiting to be held again by a giggly teenager (who’d probably much rather bury her nose in the Twilight series).
I’ll never be able to cease comparing libraries of the past with those to come. Nothing beats the moment when rays from the setting sun fall through the endless rows of literature, catching tiny particles in the air before engaging in a silent dance together.
When was the last time you stepped into a library?
